By design, AutoCAD loads the last profile that was in use when the application was exited. The menu environment for Encompass CAD is unique, thus allowing the user to switch between Encompass CAD, standard AutoCAD or any other profiles in use. When Encompass CAD is installed with the web-download version a separate Desktop icon and profile is created, leaving the <<Unnamed Profile>> in tact. To switch between AutoCAD menu environment and Encompass CAD menu environment, select "AutoCAD" from the list of menu groups in the last pull-down. When the message shown below appears, click OK. This prompts the "Options" dialog box to load, simply click on <<Unnamed Profile>> and select "Set Current".
If AutoCAD does not switch to the standard
menu environment or you do not have either an <<Unnamed Profile>>
or <<Encompass>> profile, it means the Encompass menu environment
was loaded with the <<Unnamed Profile>> active. Follow the
steps below to create a new Desktop icon and profile for standard AutoCAD.
Locate the icon on your Desktop used to launch AutoCAD. If this icon says "AutoCAD" but launches Encompass, rename the icon to Encompass by right-clicking on the icon and selecting "Rename"
Make a copy of the Desktop icon by right-clicking on the icon and selecting "Copy". Place the copy on your Desktop
Rename the copied Desktop icon to "AutoCAD" or "Encompass", depending on which icon you are missing
Set the Desktop to load a specific profile by right-clicking the Desktop icon and selecting "Properties".
Edit the "Target" to include designation of a profile to start when AutoCAD is launced with that icon. at the end of the default information.
Add a space and then either /p AutoCAD or /p Encompass Don't forget to "Apply" the changes.
Use the newly created Desktop icon to launch AutoCAD. You may see the message below if the profile you've entered in the Target did not previously exist. Select OK to continue loading with AutoCAD defaults.
