Create the drawing using Encompass CAD, then
follow the procedure below to import the product model number information
to Encompass Specifier.

follow the procedure below to import the product model number information
to Encompass Specifier.
Select Extract BOM - Entire Drawing or Extract BOM - Windowed Area from the Program drop-down of any ECAD menu group.
The File Name defaults to the File Name of the AutoCAD Drawing.
If required, check Breakout Tiled System to break-down Pre-Configured Wireworks Panel model numbers into sub-components.
If required, check Reconfigure to create comparison Bills of Materials between multiple drawings or workgroups. (ie: EXISTING, BUY, LEFTOVER)
Select Run to create an extract .txt file for upload to ESPEC.
Upload files for ESPEC located: C:\ECAD\BOMDATA\ENCOMPASS.
Launch Encompass Specifier. Create a New Project from the File pull-down. (See the help section of Encompass Specifier for details on working within the application).
Select Import From.. CAD from the selections available on the left side of the page.
Browse to C:\ECAD\BOMDATA\ENCOMPASS and select the text file to import to ESPEC. Multiple text files may be uploaded to the same Project Detail.
Verify all model numbers transferred from the CAD drawing have found a match within the specifier. Look for and replace any "unknown" or "zero price" items.
Option the project (at a minimum) to the "price only" level.
