The following are instructions for publishing an AutoCAD .DWG file to a Design Web Format .DWF file. This method creates a DWF of the entire layout selected. If only a portion of a drawing is required for DWF, see Creating DWF files with the Plot function of AutoCAD.

Note: A layout is initialized if its paper size is defined in the page setup to any size other than 0 x 0.

Select the Publish button to set the save location for the DWF file. (DWF files are to be saved in the same network folder as the corresponding AutoCAD .DWG file).

Locate the DWF file through Windows Explorer and create a Shortcut link to the document. Attach this shortcut link in an email sent to Project Coordination alerting them the DWF file is ready for AutoDesk Design Review mark-ups.
The full file path information of the .DWG used to created the .DWF remains with the DWF. If the base .DWG file is moved to an alternate network folder after the DWF is published, the link to the drawing to be used in the Markup Manager will not operate. DWF files created with AutoDesk Design review or those DWF's with broken drawing links will open with AutoDesk Design Review when selected in the Markup Manager.
